Dental issues in children; a holiday guide for parents

With many of our children home for the holidays, we are bound to notice a few things about their teeth. It might be a persistent toothache, some tooth sensitivity, a hole in one or two teeth, or teeth malalignment.

As children grow, their baby teeth shake and new permanent teeth come in their place. We advise parents to maintain good oral hygiene at all stages of a child’s development. Many things might be missed while in school due to time constraints. The holidays present the perfect opportunity to reinforce oral hygiene.

Common dental issues in children

  • Painful teeth
  • Sensitive teeth
  • Teeth that are shaking
  • Teeth not in line
  • Additional teeth
  • Teeth that have delayed to erupt
  • Bleeding gums

The signs listed above necessitate a visit to the dentist, in addition to their regular annual visit.
